Ripping off water mains
I came into work this morning to find water shooting in the air from our water main. According to one of the firemen who came to fix it, there have been several missing water mains in the last week. He said you could sell them for over $300. It looks like someone tried opening the grate on this one and took off when the grate knocked off one of the parts and water started shooting off.

Wardriving
Two years ago Benjamin Smith III, 41, was charged with a third degree felony under section 815.06 of the Florida statues for accessing a resident's wireless network without permission. The trail of that story goes cold after the arrest. I wonder what happened to that case. Gregory Straszkiewicz, 24, was arrested on similar charges in Isleworth U.K. was fined $874 and received a 12-month conditional discharge.

Witches over Mexico
I'm going to have to give Mexico the award for being the country with the most sensational reporters. In their investigation to track down the source of Witch sightings they consult the local UFO club and a resident martian. I particularly like the scene where they show so much confidence in their police force that they run a sobriety test on them. Scaz from reddit.com may have come up with the best explanation with a video of a real flying witch. I need to get one of those things for Burning Man!
Practical joke
Feed the monkey
I usually hate practical jokes. They're a cheap way of performing some action, getting another person's reaction, retracting your original action and leaving them high and dry unable to retract theirs. I'd use stronger words if I didn't think you got how I really felt. Let's assume you do. The practical joke in the video below is actually funny. The only think it reveals about the victims is that they're not so wealthy that it's not worth their time to get a little extra change and I think that only paints them in a positive light. It's a practical joke but instead of possibly showing people in a negative light it flatters them. It's 5 minutes long thought so feel free to fast forward. Ironically, I know some of you who are reading this have been caught on a similar stunt.

Broadcast yourself
The trick to winning the next election might be capturing the hearts of tech-saavy voters. 18 to 30-year olds make up nearly a quarter of total eligible voters. So where do you find these people? Well, how about myspace and youtube? That's where Presidential Candidate Chris Dodd is turning. He's asking people to use YouTube to submit videos of voters interviewing politicians. I'm undecided in my vote but I can guarantee you that my decision will be influenced by the tech savvy-ness of the candidate. I wouldn't be surprised if a large number people from my gerneration felt the same way.
Chicks and balls
What happens when you mix chickens with crack? They run off with a soccer ball of course. This is apparently an add for some guys's website where he sells his mp3's. If you're a soccer nut, you'll probably love this.
