Most of us know by now that the copy protection (CSS) on DVDs has been cracked. It was done in October 1999 by Norwegian teenager Jon Johansen who went to court over it and was acquitted. Some of us even remember when the code to do the unscrambling was floating around on T shirts.
A new copy protection (AACS) has been adopted by Disney, Warner Bothers and others. On December 26, a hacker by the name of Muslix64 posted BackupHDDVD, a program that cracks that.
